Sooooo, if I can somehow get the black residue(walk off mats, I'm sure. Who knows - maybe the glued them) off this concrete I will have one SUPER happy client! How would you go about this?

I tried some floor stripper and a soft metal brush on a black area, didn't seem like it did anything. I also didn't see any color come off with the stripper. Some type of actual grout in between the cuts.

Would you go straight to solvents for the rubber(black) residue? What kind? Would this affect color? From what I've been told, if the floor has more than one color it's surface dyed.

Anyways, any advice? Other than there screwed....

D'limolene based or boosted pre spray and a black pad/175 would be first try.

A citrus solvent will have D'limolene, right? Will solvents affect color, is color loss an issue on dyed concrete?

it said follow Mikes advice
looks cut with a 3/8 tuck point blade rather than stamped
looks acid stain...no color worries...still check
sealer looks gone
check DC board or contact a manufacturer like LM Scofield for additional recommendations....like sealer after cleaning

did a lounge/dining/kitchen with similar concrete flooring this week (no pics home owner was hovering)
very greasy grimy floor (she has 7 dogs.🤢)

cut all the black grease off but revealed effloressence type splotches underneath, she showed me the bathroom cleaner that she uses for doggy accidents which is phosphoric acid based..

the place is going on the market and she was so happy she wants me to clean the whole house if/when it sells..

my initial thought is its permantly marked (still feels smooth not etched) but It's first coloured concrete floor I've done.. thoughts??

It isn't from moisture under a sealer is it?

edit: I realize that is how efflorescence "travels" but that isn't what I mean
I don't think so, couple places looked "splotchy" like it had been dropped from above

but I dont how they colour concrete, and if you can negatively affect the colour?

I deleted because I couldn't explain well.

There are several ways to color/stain concrete. Most you can't really harm easily.

You can, of course, get efflorescence from the migration of moisture through the concrete but there are also issues with sealers that will look similar. Usually from being put on too thick and not drying properly, applied when things aren't dry yet, or something "moves" the sealer allowing water to be mixed. Usually a milky white.

Hard to tell what type of color or the potential issue without pics though.

If it’s acid stained you can’t effect the color except with the black crap that’s on it of course. Can’t imagine stripper not working. But
