How do you fill that fuel cell?
Michael, For the time being, I fill it with the pump at the gas station. I fill up the fuel cell, hand the nozzle to my associate and spin the truck around and fill the tank. After the first of the year I would like to put a drop tube into the fuel tank on the Isuzu and run it off the truck fuel tank.

Much cleaner burn on the exhaust and you system will require less maintenance while using kerosene but it almost cost 5 times what diesel costs here.

Kero cost anywhere from 5-10 bucks a gallon depending the quantity Jd where you are buying it from.

Ron maintain his equipment very well and will perform cleaning and maintenance on the unit like clock work so he shouldn't hav any problems.

I would like to know if the plume allows any soot back into the box in the future as it burns through a few hundred gallons.

I'm a bit confused Mr.Deal-Me-In-OneMoTime can you splain this for me Lucy. :winky:

A 100k machine and you still need to add 4k more to keep the heat up when you use two tools?

Wouldn't be better off with two Everests in two separate vans? You can attack from two different entry points. You can go to two separate jobs when needed.

You are a poopoo stirrer aren't you.

The only time he needs to turn that burner on is first thing in the morning or when running two tile tools and wanting to stay at 215 constantly.

No machine can run two tile tools at 200 feet while operating at 1000 plus psi and maintain 215 on both tools with out a burner of some kind.

I don't believe that burner will be on even half of the time to be honest.

Do I need to make a video for you?

Richard, At one time I had three Butlers running with crews, we did janitorial work, restoration, large hospitals, entire school districts 600,000 plus sq ft per year. I have been bigger but have chosen to get out of competitely bidding for low margin work to keep employees busy. I have 5 part time associates that earn from $15 to $25 per hour and have an hourly target of 250 an hour and up. On Friday I operated the truck for 8 hours and grossed $2800, today I ran 6 hours and grossed $1400. The addition of the heater is a benefit to me as a measure of effeciency. I like to earn as much as possible in the shortest amount of time.

Sorry Ron, I was picking on Lockhart and you got in the way. He & I constantly go around around about his big trucks.
Richard, No problem, I did not post this looking for approval, there is no right or wrong, just what works best for you and me. Under a limited usage Zipper etc it is beneficial to a small segment of our industry;)

Kerosene burns at least 10-20 degrees hotter and cleaner and a therefore less fuel.
I burn about 1/4 gallon of kero and hour
At 160-180 heat with Appr. 1 1/2 GPm 12-14 flow. Continual flow with a zipper
You don't need a hx with kero heat
Just like with a pto and more vacuum you get faster performance
Same with fuel heat you finish the job 20 min faster and save time and labor
A 4.5 blower on at least a 33 hp engine with fuel heat will out perform a pto with the same blower
That's a 10-15 k machine vs a 30 k machine

No pto's owned
I am just looking at specs and $$$$$$
Not saying a pto is not one of the best truckmounts
Just saying you can get the same package for about 1/2 price
If your gonna get a pto should get a larger blower and the high heat system
Apparently some pto's do not use hx so they may give better heat than hx?????

Cap you do realize many of us have lots of experience with kerosene boilers? I still have a 440k unit in the shop.

We respect its benefits, yet prefer hx now.

I would consider a pto if I lived up north as I think some of them may produce enough heat
Off the engine???..and would love to have at least a 4.7 +++ blower
However down here in texas with 3-4 months of 100 degree weather
It may be too much wear and overheating on the van engine.....
That may be the reason not too many pto's down here in texas???
I am not locked into kero heat just can't see any other way accept a pto???

Lee, While I prefer the hx and run the truck that way most of the time, it is convenient to have the extra heat when I need it. All of the hx truck mount manufacturers over run the engine to create enough heat to satisfy the temp setting on the machine. I can run the unit at 1300 rpm with the heater, 1500 rpm with the hx, or dual wand with the heater. It gives me total flexibility, that is what I was looking for.
