Shaw Industries specifically stated no recirculating systems were to be used on their carpet.

I have criticized Shaw and other carpet manufacturers who got behind the CRI SOA program for years and when the mood hits me, I start up on them again.

But to be entirely fair, Shaw has recognized professional cleaning now for years, specifically had good things to say about hot water extraction overall and truck mounts specifically, acknowledged the weaknesses of "walk behind" extractors, encouraged "prespray and rinse" cleaning because of residue issues, and wisely realized the profoundly bad things that would happen when a machine that recycled water would cause.

They still aren't perfect, and last I checked my organization isn't either, but they say more good things than they do bad things.

You ever see a duck on the water? He floats so effortlessly as if he not working at all. Yet if you could see beneath the waters surface he is paddling his ass off!

Ok so that doesn't relate at all but it is a nice story!

Maybe I don't work that hard but the little I do is still very taxing on me! :winky:

We looked at one of these rigs for our facility here...machine held 25 gallons of water that gets reused continuously...The thing had a huge cylindrical screen inside of it that supposedly filtered out all the big chunks. ;) The other bugaboo was that you had to purchase their synthetic chemicals for the thing to work properly...We rightly took a pass on same and stuck with conventional portables.

Their unit works best when you use it with a zipper or 12 flow. Shit can the recycle and maybe it might with a 50 gal tank .Many years past a local cleaner had one but wasn,t busy enough and now is in the lawn service. jz.

Hard to imagine this equipment is still around.

That being said, don't think we're "really" running out of water? Wait till July thru Aug this year. We have no snow pac (30%) of our water reserves, and 16 more municipalities are seeking loans $$ to have drinking water trucked in for this year. Not likely we'll all be encaping residential here but it's concievable we might need to meter the customers water. Sh.., does know one remember Cali in the 80's?, we were flushing toilets with saved water from the shower.

It's always been a cyclical thing... Environmental wackos would make you believe this all caused by us blah blaaaa

But the reality of it is moisture levels have always been up and down.... Since forever.

And wouldn't a new state border be cool, just 1 mile south of bakersfield. I get all globally warmed just thinking about it.

The best thing that could happen to the US is for California to split off and become their own Country. No immigration from California allowed. Or they could just join Mexico. Over a million Californians have migrated out of the state in the last few years. They have started new legislation all over trying to make their new states as Fuked up as where they moved from.

The next best thing would be to Get Illinois to drop out and take Some guy with them....

Here to give you kids a laugh...We recently switched suppliers for all our janitorial supplies, and now we'll be revisiting the aforementioned water recycling carpet machine, look up 'CFR corp' for more info...People never learn from the past... :(

I just wish we didn't have to discuss Richard's feathered ass, even on a year-old thread. Puts me off my grub, it does.
