It's actually easy to learn, mostly common sense and having a steady hand when making your cuts. The Kool
Glide makes it so much easier too. I couldn't imagine doing it any other way.
For those of you who want to learn, I highly recommend it, it's a great money maker and in the winter when the cleaning slows down the repairs don't.
Stretching is obviously trickier but once you get the logistics down, it's easy to figure out.
And yes
@Lee Stockwell when you don't have a donor you can take it from a closet and put something close in its place. If the patch is really small you can pull a piece from under the baseboards, you'd be surprised how much carpet you can get from there, especially if the carpet wasn't stretched in during install.
