Today was the last day of work before selling off the name of my company. My wife passed away 2 1/2 months ago from chemo and pretty much pushed me into retirement. Way too much for me to do on my own. I think I’m ready for it. Now I gotta get my van ready to sell and I’ll wrap this up hopefully by spring. It’s been almost a 45 year run, so it’s time.

My sincere condolences Doug..

If you don't mind, as usual I have questions..

How long were you married?
Was she the Mom to your Pop in biz?
If so How did that come about?
Kids?
If so where and what do they do?
Do you have a local (real) social group?
Are you still flipping homes?
How many years did you clean for?
Care to share some lessons learned?
Will you be riding more now?

I hope your retirement goes well, and purposefully...

1. Married 41 years
2. Yes. She scheduled the work and occasionally did jobs with me. I bought the business from my employer in 1988.
3. I have a son and a daughter. My daughter is a teachers aide. My son is a foreman with a large utility contractor.
4. I am not involved in any local social group.
5. We stopped flipping homes a year or so ago. My body was starting to hurt to bad. I feel much better now.
6. I’ve been cleaning since 1982
7. The biggest lesson hopefully is to never stop learning.
8. I definitely will be riding more.

I also have a good size house that needs to be maintained and I couldn’t do by myself and work. I’ve been wanting to retire for a few years now. Without my wife, I really have no reason to work.
