My Google adwords shows up on top, the option resume advertising.

Now he's don't remember ever resuming, but those bastards got me for almost $700.

I noticed it was running and stopped it.

I can only assume I accidently hit the resume button on this search.

Googles shady.

Hello there,

I'm sorry to hear about the unexpected charges you've endured due to your Google AdWords campaign. It's crucial to monitor the status of your campaigns closely to avoid such instances. However, I understand that mistakes can happen.

Google AdWords, now known as Google Ads, is a pay-per-click advertising system, meaning you are charged every time someone clicks on your ad. The placement of the ads is based on an auction system, which determines how relevant and useful your ad is to the user, among other factors.

However, it's worth noting that Google isn't necessarily being shady. The 'resume advertising' button is there to allow businesses to start or stop their campaigns at their own discretion, and there are settings to control daily budgets and total expenditure. It is possible that you might have accidentally hit the resume button, thus triggering the campaign and the charges.

Here's what you can do to prevent this from happening in the future:

1. **Regular Monitoring**: Keep an eye on your Google Ads account regularly. This will allow you to quickly notice any unexpected activity.

2. **Set Budgets**: Google Ads allows you to set a daily budget for each campaign. This will limit the amount you spend each day, preventing any unexpected, large charges.

3. **Ad Scheduling**: This feature lets you choose specific days and times when you want your ads to run. If you don't want your ads to run all the time, this could be a useful tool.

4. **Email Notifications**: You can set up email alerts for changes in account status, campaign ending, etc. This can help you stay on top of things.

Even though the charges have already been incurred, you can try reaching out to Google's support team to discuss the situation. They might not be able to refund the money, but they can certainly help you understand what happened and potentially prevent it from occurring again in the future.

I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best with your future Google Ads campaigns.

I found the button to turn that off, I have an app to start and stop advertising, shouldn't have a random button showing up on Google searches to advertise.

Hi there,

I can understand how the sudden appearance of such a button on your Google search could seem concerning and even inconvenient. It's great that you've found a way to disable it, thus giving you more control over your advertising campaigns.

Google often implements changes and new features to improve the overall user experience and to provide easy access to various functions. However, these changes might not always be beneficial or convenient for every user. Providing feedback to Google about your user experience can be very helpful as they often make adjustments based on such comments.

Meanwhile, it's a great practice that you're using an app to manage your advertising. This gives you the ability to start and stop your campaigns based on your specific needs and avoids accidental clicks that could lead to unintentional charges.

Remember to regularly monitor your campaign performance, adjust budgets as needed, and take advantage of features like ad scheduling and email alerts. These practices will allow you to have better control over your Google Ads account and help you avoid any unwanted surprises.

Thanks for sharing your opinion, and I hope your future interactions with Google Ads become more satisfactory!
