Tomorrow will make 2 weeks since I had a new ACL and my meniscus tear repaired in my right knee. The first 2 days were pretty painful but since then I have done well . My physical therapist says I am doing better at a week and a half than most are doing at 4 weeks. I have almost complete full range of motion and can walk with only a very slight limp.

Sitting around the house has almost driven me crazy. I am usually go go go from 445am until 11 or so at night. These last 2 weeks have sucked. I was so bored once I watched an episode of Walker Texas Ranger!.

I have no idea how these welfare people do this all day. I understand why some people can never retire. I will be one of those 70 year old guys standing at the entrance of Walmart. " welcome to Walmart"

I miss cleaning carpet.

It's great loving what you do for a living.

We did a cruise to the Bahamas after the Florida show. Didn't think much of it.
Of course we did a cheap cruise. It was kinda like a Super 8 on water. I think the ship was built in the 50s. A better cruise line would make for a better experience.

I'm still at it after 35+ years. I enjoy the challenge and the interaction with my many long time custys. I'll maybe go a few more years, just until my Son can take an early retirement and take over the business. The modern tools of today have made it possible to continue to clean at 63. Green glides, rotary tools, encap machines, Zippers, and my favorite.......the triggerless upholstery tools.

Target greater for me... Hoping for a little higher end clients... And less entertainment you could say... We've all seen pictures... Lol

Glad to here you are healing well! And I know exactly what you mean...I go crazy when I can't work which is why I'm so thankful for the new equipment that keeps me able to work!
I don't think I'd ever be happy not being on the truck, in fact I know I'd go stir crazy!

Go into a retirement home and see everyone sitting in recliners watching TV and you will be motivated to keep doing what you love to do. Time is ticking............use it.............before you lose it and.............DIE!

I broke my leg about 9 years ago and had a plate and screws put in my leg but was strolling on a bike or crutches immediately afterwards. Had from Memorial Day til Labor Day off but could've been back to work after 4 weeks. If I'm not cleaning , I'm renovating.

i enjoy the heck out of it, especially the part where i point out the spot my helper missed. i don't think i could run it every day any more unless i had to. its a young mans game. i run it when i have to. i can still work circles around him its just i feel it later. the young don't seem very competitive, it doesn't seem to bother him that I'm faster.

Adam,

How are you dealing with the people who call wanting cleaning?

Are they pissed?

You should postcard them couple weeks before good to go.

Will you be back in the saddle by spring?

I will be back in 2 weeks.

I have an employee doing all the work. It's our slow season so I can stay off a truck.
