Mikey, you are some of the few in this country to have your business plan of Op'ing more jobs than I'll Ever do with that machine due to your location.

And Larry, I love when you get mikey's heart rate up. Keep up the good work.

As for Rick...When you commented on looking at the carpet to make your decision on whether it's clean enough, that must be when you switched over to encap. When cleaning carpet, the areas that are heavy need to be inspected, not by the look of the carpet, but the look and smell of the recovery water. When that looks acceptable, yes, it will be better than encapping. No scientific number you guys come up with will prove that wrong

Did I light up the fire again?

I'd like an old Speed Wagon. Drop a diesel tractor motor in her and roll some coal! 😎

To Rick a simple question.
Are you now advocating the use of encap in domestic homes?

Splain it to me Lucy...just take a few steps back down wind. 😉

Seriously I think it has its place and yet it has some inherent short comings. As long as it's being sold as appearance management and not corrective cleaning, I have no guilt.
I believe that is the point. Most customers simply want it to look better while receiving good customer service. Very few care how you do it, as long as you tick those boxes.

It's not that I haven't done it in homes but there was a reason. It needed to dry faster than HWE would, they had assisted living occupants and were will to accept the trade off.
Also did some cleaning in frigid weather with sub zero temperatures, clients were willing to accept improved appearance.

Would I sell it as comparable to HWE cleaning? Maybe to a portable, but not to any TM.

The point is that you are not selling the type of cleaning. The customer just wants you to show up, make it look better and get the heck out of their house. They don’t care about one way versus the other, cleaning industry drama or your level of integrity. There is a random customer that does, but most don’t.
I’m not a residential encap guy, but I don’t oversell my carpet cleaning knowledge to my customers. I don’t believe they care.

Here's the kink in that. Appearance is everything. When I encap a CGD, I don't tell my customer it's just an appearance cleaning. I don't tell them using a TM is better. I just do it. I believe every customer expects the best cleaning possible from us, not just an appearance cleaning. Just being honest.

I believe in the power of encap as a cleaner. The encapsulating properties of Angry Lemon and DSE2 is amazing. squirt a little of tops spotter on the problem areas, and BAM.... you have a happy customer.

When I let a little bit of Angry Lemon dry in the bottom of my measuring cup, it crystalizes in little shards. They also taste pretty good.

I have a monster of a job coming up this weekend. It's going to be 116° here. I'm encapping everything I can. I may need to HWE the stairs, but everything else gets encap. It will look and smell just as good as HWE when done. I'll get the check and go sell more options contracts.

Most may not, however I'd have trouble sleeping at night knowing I delivered less than I was capable of because it was easier.

To each his own! That's the great thing about owning your own business, you can fook it up all you want and have no one to answer to but your own damn self! 🤭

Try an Oreck orbiter on the stairs. You won't believe how easy it is. Start at the top and clean your way down.

Whole different ammnimal. It's my preferred method for commercial.

While we generally still extracted the entry and any impacted areas, the majority of the project was VLM.

The difference vs residential, no fuzzing or yarn untwisting to be concerned with. Nobody is going to walk bare foot or lay down on the carpet. No babies crawling to be concerned with how clean it actually is, not just how clean it looks.

If none of that concerns you on residential, maybe you should check into a Chemdry, Oxifresh, Heavens Best franchise. 🙄

Looked as good as HWE, dried in under an hour, stayed looking clean longer, no dirty dish towel the next day and if you look at the pad water, I removed a shit load of soil, therefore I cleaned it.

and created less (or no) bacteria in the process.

Go spend a week with Sarti in Scruz.

He'll do more volume and $ than you this year with "just" his Spyder.

But I'm trying to convince him to get one of these.

Forces you to rely on dwell time rather than agitation, just 60-ish pounds, great for tight areas and upstairs work.
