Maybe at the experience you can walk around and record some interviews.
That's the plan, as usual

#2 and #3For reasons that will become apparent, I'm not able to be objective in my thoughts.
But, in the interests in moving the conversation along, I would like to share some observations I've made over the past 5 years:
1. Trade Associations, as they once were in the late 20th century, are all but dead.
2. Regional distributors who sponsored training classes, often monthly, have mostly retired or sold to large organizations that no longer have a deep commitment to regular local training opportunities for cleaners
3. Young cleaners don't respond well to classroom training, so the above changes were occuring anyway. They search for answers on line through Google, You Tube, AI, or Social Media forums
4. The above mentioned sources are often populated with erroneous or incomplete information sources.
5. Cleaner networking sites are not always well policed, and those asking questions or even being supportive an answering questions can be subject to abuse and ridicule.
6. The IICRC, which at one time had a measure of credibility has lost much of it for a variety of reasons.
For all of the above reasons, there needs to be a way of accessing information that has been vetted, follows generally accepted practices in both cleaning efficiency and safety to the textile, the customer, and the operator.
Steve and Mike…..privately talk, hash it out. Let it go. Drop it. Life too short. Peace awaits.
Does not matter who is right who is wrong.
Will you buy me some plane tickets to make the trip? Those of you attending The Experience next week, be sure to join Jim Pemberton and myself and get ready for a modern community built on kindness and trust, created to give cleaners the support they’ve been missing. This new platform will reward contributors and lift the entire industry higher—don’t miss the reveal.”

My goal of him being better than me is on track. I wish I had this kind of real business networking at his age.
ATTENTION!
Jim Pemberton and my presentation has been moved to Wednesday 9/3 at 8AM for a full hour.
*Trade show only attendees will be welcomed as well due to the important nature of our announcement.
In today’s industry, reliable answers are harder to find than ever. Too often cleaners turn to Facebook groups, YouTube videos, or outdated forums only to get conflicting opinions, sarcasm, or flat-out wrong advice. The Cleaning Standard (.com) was created to change that. This new platform combines trusted AI technology, proven moderators, and a code of professionalism, kindness, and respect to give cleaners what they’ve been missing: reliable, nearly instant answers and a safe space to learn, share, and grow.
During this 60-minute presentation, industry veteran Jim Pemberton will share why he believes now is the time for a new standard, followed by co-founder Mike Pailliotet, who will walk attendees through the features, values, and member benefits of the platform. From business-building tools like a consumer directory and SEO-boosting profiles, to educational content, networking opportunities, and discounts, attendees will see how The Cleaning Standard is designed to support newcomers, guide mid-career cleaners, and equip veterans with modern resources.
This is more than just another forum—it’s the community our industry has been waiting for.
