Good morning,

We wanted to make you aware of some issues with certification exam results. All of our instructors, host facilities where we teach (in Birmingham and across the US), as well as our staff have all had questions regarding why they have not received their IICRC certifications and exam results in a timely manner. And by timely manner, we mean the 6-8 weeks we have grown accustomed to receiving them in. We now have a few more answers than we did last week so wanted to make sure and share them with you. We updated news on our website yesterday and called each of those that have had concerns the past month or so as well as posted on our Facebook page. We want to make sure that we all are as informed as we can be since it affects each of you as much as it does each of us.

According to the IICRC yesterday (6/2/2015), they have now finished grading exams taken through the month of February 2015. Those exams are being updated in their system by registrant and results are being sent out to the registrant. The results are sent via email if there was an email provided by the registrant on the testing forms. The results are also being mailed along with the certificate and IICRC certification packet to the address selected by the registrant on the testing forms. Yes, we know that it is now June and these classes were taken in February...so this is the same for our classes taken in March and April as well. Unfortunately, we are still in the waiting game.

The IICRC is aware of the issues and complaints and are working to correct the problems. They have hired more to double the staff and hopefully be able to have the exams processed faster in order to get caught back up. However, if you do have specific questions or want to voice your opinion, you can call the IICRC direct at 775-553-5458 or email them at info@iicrc.org.

If you are wondering how this could have happened or why the change? The IICRC switched management firms in February when the contract was set to expire. KCI had managed the IICRC with Tom Hill as Executive Administrator for the last 30 years. The IICRC Board of Directors selected Metacred as the new institute management service provider as of February 2015. Here are some frequently asked questions regarding the transition. So yes, this is a new company that is learning about the IICRC and what we are about and are working on getting exams processed for us all.

Again, I apologize for the delays and hope as much as you do that they can get the issue corrected in a more timely manner. Make sure to like our Facebook page as we will post any updates we receive in the meantime. We also want to let you know that even if you have taken a course that is a prerequisite for others and have not received the results, you can still take the next course. So, if you have taken the WRT course you can still take the ASD, AMRT, and CDS courses without receiving your results from the preliminary course.

As always, contact us if you have any questions. We're here for your training and certification needs. Thanks again for your patience!

It costs the students $65.00 to take the test. If they don't pass they can try again within 90 days.
The 90 days have passed. What will the IICRC do now?
Naturally the students are calling us at the store and we have nothing to tell them.

must really REALLY be thorough...being quick about it an' all....

seriously, I've never been one to dog IICRC because I've never had a dog in the fight ...never saw enough value in being a member.

buy man-o-day, it sure seems like they're taking a LONG time to get their chit together

it's been what??..three, four years since the take over coop??

to quote my once friend, Tony Wheelwright....

"good grief"...

I thought your "once friend" was checking the test sheets and will be letting all attendees know their outcome shortly.

Just as soon as he posts the results of Mikefest 2012 for carpet cleaning procedures.

What a bloody disgrace & they wonder why they lose old time members. :hopeless:

Why did they hire a management company again?

Why not hire your own CEO and let them build a team.
Just curious...

Lets see you vote someone in to be the standards chair and he fails miserably so you decide he would make a much better president because he did such a wonderful job failing as the standards chair...There is still way more to all of this and I am not sure if the puppets know who their puppet master is/was or not.

I only wish that the iicrc was actually DOING carpet cleaning in my little city.

And that I had to quote against them daily. :stir:

And the beat goes on

Stopped paying them 10 years ago, about 5 years after after the yellow pages

Really can't complain about them tho, as I no longer feed the meter

If I had a nickel for every grammar and punctuation error in that IICRC letter, I could buy a Zipper.

It gives me great pleasure to see the IICRC wallowing in their own pudding. They are irrelevant and they have always been irrelevant. Nobody cares about them except cleaning companies that need some sort of outside affirmation for their marketing.

The only relevance that they have is with the insurance companies mandating that restoration companies have IICRC certified technicians.
We sell out classes for the Water Damage and Smoke and Fire technician classes.
All the rest have maybe a half dozen students sign up.

Is that common everywhere? We've never been asked if we are IICRC certified for fire or water. Our supervisors and lead tech's are but have never been asked by any insurance representative.

I think they fill a need in our industry and will continue to support them. Like all organizations they move slow. Hopefully they can get their act together soon.

6 to 8 weeks?
This is 2015, how about grade the test within 24 hours.
My wife just took her realestate test and she had the score the next day.
