my 3rd Standards meeting today.
Usually they're at 4:30 am, today's is 630 HHJJ.!

The process of helping take the Latin chemist dork out of the equation and replacing verbiage and punctuation so that Pratvillians stand a chance at fingering their way through a paragraph is rather enjoyable

But unfortunately, run on sentences are frowned upon...

I had a business writing course in college where we practiced eliminating words from sentences. That's what I still try to do when writing memos, etc.

Unfortunately for you Mike, the IICRC standards also have to pas the legal sniff test. That type of writing is a whole different ballgame.

I'm a decade away from my last meeting with IICRC folks.

When last I was there, one of the issues was this:

"Is this document a training manual for technicians, is it a legal document to be used to establish that cleaning was, or should be, done in a specific way to accomplish a desired result?"

If the answer is "both", you have a tough job ahead.

In either event, I doubt that much of the "MUS" that tends to leak into those documents is necessary, or helpful at all.
