On the Aussie forum, a well known guy is trying to get a part for his Oreck.

Oreck appear to have closed down down under, or changed suppliers and can't be found.

He has contacted both Oreck in the U.S. & the U.K.

They are happy to sell him the item, but won't ship overseas.

Here's a copy of my reply to his post, regarding an Aussie who ripped of a U.S supplier, and my dealings with a U.S. supplier that I lost my money on.

A few years ago, an American supplier sent out a portable carpet machine & other items to a carpet cleaner in Victoria who had paid by credit card.

Story goes that after the items were shipped the credit card was cancelled.

This guy literally stole the equipment from the supplier.

Since then, I think a lot of suppliers are wary about shipping to an unknown person.

I myself have been stung in reverse.

I paid for a spot dye/bleach removal kit from the states by visa and have never seen the goods.

The person/firm involved will not answer my phone calls or emails.

This is their website:

I would strongly advise anyone wishing to do business with this company to think long and hard about what I have just said before losing your money.

Ooroo,

:(

Seems a lot like the Roper dye posts from a few years back...
They sold you the 3 primary colors, bleach neutralizer and prep or ph adjuster...
If you will pay for shipping I will send you the powdered dyes, you buy the ph adjster and bleach neutralizer.

I have a surplus of dyes, and would be glad to help if I can. Spot Dye has been very profitable for me...but even 1 ounce of dye will do tmany housands of dollars in repairs, and buying the dye by the pound means I literally give the stuff away to keep reasonably fresh stock.
I AM NOT a distributor, supplier, nor do I sell Anything.
I actually do free classes and free dye to my local network!

We have talked before, I have no hidden adjenda

Thanks Tom, very generous offer, also thanks for the pm.

I have already sourced dyes from an Australian distributor.

Yes, it was Roper, the scoundrel.

I believe they are still operating.

I haven't had any issues shipping over the pond except price shoppers ;) I actually have some really great customers/friends in Australia, New Zealand,Great Britian small items and very big items are easy it's when it is to big for USPS and to small for a palette that it gets real pricey.

Thanks... just trying to help. Will you be at connections in Fla.?
I'll be there for a short while, but have much more to do while I'm in the area on vacation.

Just getting there takes 17 & 1/2 hours flying, plus another 9 & 1/2 hous in airports.

All going well that is. shiteatinggrin
