omg.. :icon_redface:

Our 10 year old nearly perfect cat has been locked up in the new house for two weeks now. standard operation for letting them acclimate to the new surroundings before letting them go out side.

She has never in her life used a box, always gone outside.

She some how knew to use it though. Very impressed with Mother.

But lord allfrigginmytee....The stench of those morning turds has me retching so hard I go into convulsions. Today I can't believe I didn't toss the cookies.

I CAN'T NOT BELIEVE ALL THE HOMES I'VE BEEN IN OVER THE YEARS THAT KEEP A LITTER BOX IN THE BATH ROOM.

How does a human with a nose deal with that on a daily basis?

I have never done that with any of my cats during a move. We have one cat that is about 17 years old and we have moved about 4 times since we have had him and all we have ever done was bring him to the new home, show him where the food is and go from there.

no clue.
some kitty litters are better than others .
Most folks (the clean ones) scoop daily too

cats don't have to be potty trained like dogs ...they'll all use a litter box if the owner keeps it reasonably maintained

Cat pee problems aren't due to not being potty trained ..they're due to cats marking territory

My wife got this stuff that looks like rock candy.

the bag says One Cat, One Bag, One Month.

Roxy has slipped by me 3 times now and ran into the back yard, each time she came back inside on her own. Very smart cat. Not too needy, rarely ever barfs, keeps the yard and hood rodent free, loves the dogs, not to many fights/infections with other cats, doesn't purr and if there is no litter box and she gets trapped in the home she usually poops in the bath tub. I would have for a coyote or big bird to nab her here.

'yotes might ...lost one of my best hunters to 'em (strongly suspected due to particular circumstances when he came up missing)
the corn field he hunted/hung out in got cut and he was missing a couple days after that...figure he got caught out the open one night and couldn't make it to the woods fast enough

you'll hate them mangie mutts too when/if you lose one of your best.
they're VERMIN to be shot on sight :madd:

I've got this Always Clean customer that asks me to "hit the hallway carpet really good" every time I'm there, "because it smells like cat pee".

The stupid liter box is in the laundry room, 2 feet from the hallway door, and it's always rancid!

Cat people are different.

We had many cats through the years. 4 now. We keep the litter boxes in the garage and they go there through the cat door. I only ever had 1 cat spray for territory, he was gone after we cought him a few times doing it. We clean the litterboxes daily and have never had an accident or pee anywhere. I think this is the key.

We evolve to the point that we have indoor plumbing.

Then we bring an animal indoors to defecate.

I don't get it.

The people whom I bought my house from (who were PIGS) had a litter box in the pantry - nice.
