It's 1-degree outside, wind chill was -18 last night

Here we go again, we will be getting those broken pipe calls in the next few days.

Last month we had 35-WDR losses-in 10 days when it was this cold.

My kids told me this morning as we were waiting for the bus that they closed schools in Wisconsin today because it was so cold.

You guys have some cold there, you can keep it too!

-1 here at 10:00am. Pure BS. Why did I move here?

Worked in -6 a few weeks ago. Nothing froze up surprizingly. High flow helped me out a ton I think.

Dirk LOL!

It could be worse, as I grained the horses this morning, one of them farted on me...............for about a minute straight.

Nice treatment for someone who braved the cold to feed him!

For some unknown reason I thought of Brian Luddy????

It's already starting, just had 2-Pipe breaks call in.

One home has 3-floors wet, it's going to be a busy few days.

This business drives me crazy with the feast or famine patterns of work. :?

You warm weather fookers piss me off!

Greenie send me half of that 75-degrees, 37 would be a heat wave. It's 14-right now and getting ready to drop as the sun is going down.

"In the yard", my grass crunches! :x

I'm dieing to see what happens to that 50' of sol. line outside the door, when you stop to tab some furniture, or move some stuff.
how fast does a 1/4" sol. line freeze at -6ºf?

I always heard about pissing in low temps and it freezing before it hits the ground. How cold does it need to be? I want to try it one day. A/c running in the office day in and day out. The nice sunny 80 degrees here is killin me!

Greenie- It isn't that bad. As long as you run the solution line last, once the water is flowing, I have never had a line freeze. I worry more about the vac hoses freezing up.

I do have custies that, everytime they go out to the truck, they wack the 2.5" hose with a stick to knock loose the ice build up, it can be pretty thick they say, but the 2.5 buys them more time than the 2" does.

We've had it freeze the inlet shut and loose suction. Worse is when the pvc ball valve freezes and you bust the wings off turning it. So you go get some channel locks to turn it but the whole thing is froze shut.

That sucks!

The temp gauge on my deck said -21 this morning, hit about -9 for a high in the afternoon, that's without the wind. Factor in the wind, and it was probably about -25 to -45.

While that might sound cold, and it is, I think some of the guys from Canada hit -45 WITHOUT the wind.

Now THAT'S fooking cold!

Usually the vac hose will freeze on long runs and on floods when you're sucking up water that is close to freezing. I was running 150 feet today with at least 50" outside and I had no problems. The wind has alot to do with hoses freezing also.

Lots of Americans have stars in their eyes when you mention Celcius, I find it comical that -40ºf is the same as -40ºc Cause when you Hear -40c you think damn...that is bitter cold.

I think at a certain point you can't tell how cold it is because it's too fooking cold.

I think your being ungrateful to the horse. he obviously saw you shivering and helped warm you up. :p
and you did stand there for a minute :p
No wonder you feel cold, don't you have the temp set at 80-100 inside(from another post) :p

if your a chiefs fan you're getting a good football guy in scott pioli. The pats have lost a bunch of off field talent this year.
