We started doing live chat a few months back and it works really good for us. We started with livechat and now use a widget called "formila". So far so good. People love it.
We book a handful of jobs weekly using this.
Pros:
Convenient for the client
Convenient for the phone person
Stores and logs all chat
Easy to use phone app
Cons:
Could be frustrating to a potential client if you dont respond.
Easy for competitors to ask you questions
