But it's better than nothing.

It's actually been doing a pretty good job filtering the water and very easy to hook up, so if I need to fill up at customers house I at least know it's filtered.

I know, I know I'm a hack. Some day I'll get a soft water filter thingy.

I'd imagine those units would be to small, you would have to recharge the to often. Think 32k grains is recommend for truckmounts.

Between hard water and rinse products my brass on the tm is failing at a ridiculous rate.

Well they claim 1000 gallons on a box of salt, so that would be a snap. But would it make for better cleaning?

Good question

Replace with every new truckmount..

I meant weekly. Are you counting gallons, every Friday etc.?

I only fill up at home now and keep my DI filters in the garage. It's amazing how much water can change from My home, having 230 TDS, and driving to my Father in Laws 5 miles away. His water is terrible 550 TDS. You can wreck your DI filters really fast if your filling up just anywhere. Which is the same for Soft Water too. Which was what I meant by my question. How do you know it is time to do a flush on your soft water systems? You could be spent for days and not know it if you hooked to a few bad sources.

No soft water but I use a magnet My Hydramaster 470D had one from the factory and no problems. I now have one from Cobb on his unit . Six years and no problem No soft water but someway it aligns the water structure plus and minuses what ever that means. Also water filters and the heat exchange stay cleaner longer
jz.
