Ive got a sic Hydroforce....help!

First the gun wont shut off on the last job yesterday (installed new gun, same brass) and now the vacuum at the Dema is on again off again..

Thought I found the issue when two of the three inline filters were buggered up but it's still off and on..
Pre Dema was clean, pre gun was loaded with black grud and pre jet tip was loaded with white clobster like crap.

No crud in the dema/spring/ball that I can see.

haven't had this issue in a long long time... can't recall the cause or fix..

help!

I haven't had any issues for years so I can't really help...but what I do every few months is this: take it apart wash it down with with my bleeder hose on the tm and it keeps working fine.

And in 3.....2.....1....here come all the DAPs saying "you should not be using hydroforce"..."you should be using a battery sprayer" blah blah blah...

is it the original gun, thats kinda odd shaped??? or a pressure washer gun??

clogs- not any more

broken tube -im testing with the draw tube off..
bad block-could be...looks good from all three inlets..

Correction: I did replace the draw tube a couple times. I have about 5 feet of that tube and just cut a piece when it gets cracked .

I'm just making shit up now so bear with me......

Seems the only change you have made if no parts are bad is increasing the flow by cleaning the clogged up filters. Turn the shut off valve partially closed and see if it starts to draw. If so I would say the jet is worn but wasn't showing symptoms due to the reduced flow rate.....

I seem to get about 1000-1200 jobs out of a hydraforce.
Never had luck rebuilding one.
Once they stop sucking I clean everything, rarely do the filters need cleaning east side with hard water they did.
If that does not fix it, I toss it and buy a new one, keeping a few parts just in case. The bone yard has come in handy for some quick fixes.

I once had the trigger start leaking, stopped at JD for a rebuild kit, or valve, they sold me a new gun instead cuz the price was nearly the same.
Replaced it, then the hydraforce stopped drawing.

It was a HF and the new gun I think is what they use on the spraymaster or whatever it is JD sells.

funny thing is, when i fixed min years ago... the o-rings were shot....and being poorer then....i was like hummmm

i think the only o-rings on it, are the ones for the part that holds the ball and spring in place....

Can you see light through the block??

i poked a needle through to clean it out...wash wash...then used the compressor on it...

mine went crap like 3 mths ago, at a job down the street...walked home and fixed it ( i wasnt rolling all the hoses up)

If it is something I can look at and it is a simple fix...no problem....

if not then my next step will be to text Olson and have him send me a new one....some things are just not worth the time to worry about...and these things are pretty close to the top of that list..............

I prefer the Multisprayer brand ,but it sounds like it could be the block. We go through a couple of blocks a year in each van. They just finally give out. Have actually had a couple guns stick over the years. Have been able to take apart and clean up, but again, they just wear out and we replace.

How old? If more that a couple of years do as Lockhart and just buy new. The new containers are much easier to fill anyway.

We use them for as long as they're reliable when they start having issues we will use the rebuild kit too much more and you're money ahead not fooling with it. Dema valve is expensive, the water nozzle is brass and wears out after years of use. By the time you break down all the parts and account for the down time and labor to repair it.....you should have just bought a new one.

Here is that 10 problems list and the exploded parts view.

[FONT=&quot]Ten possible problems that will prevent it drawing -

1) The filter behind the QC where the water comes in gets plugged. Many folks don't even realize there is a filter there. So they never clean it. Should be cleaned every week or two for best performance.

2) Strainer behind spray jet tip clogged. Another "hidden" filter.

3) Spray tip changed to a smaller size or plugged with some powder, hard water deposits or whatever. Keep spray tip clean and replace every 6 months to a year.

4) Air leak in the draw tube that goes down into the chemical. If it is drawing air, it won't draw chemical. That plastic will eventually crack or split. Also one of the cheapest parts to replace.

5) Spring installed upside down after it was taken apart.

6) Dema valve clogged or corroded and needs to be replaced. The most expensive repair.

7) Breather hole plugged. Clean out.

8) Water nozzle clogged. This is a relatively inexpensive repair. (Replace NA0807.)

9) Metering tip clogged. Replace.

10) Acorn strainer at the bottom of the draw tube plugged.[/FONT]

I bought 2, kept the new gun as a spare, hid it in the rig, just incase. Haven't had one fail yet, but thanks to this post I probably will. Fooker : )

With the QC system on the block nose, i just switch the one gun to whichever solution.

So Spoiled Pump ups make me sweat jus lookin at em : )

I'm pretty sure the Multisprayer brand uses a SS water nozzle instead of a brass water nozzle. You don't need to replace it as often. Pretty much a wear item on the Hydroforce and can cause you problems when trouble shooting just because it's not an obvious replacement part.

It is made of brass, so it is etched by some chemicals and normal wear.
