As far as I know that machine has been sitting since at least 8/07. That is when Jeff bought it from John Olson, it sat in our shop until we split up and he took it with him up there. I don't think it had been turned over in a long time when John had it.

between Jeff's legal, personal and financial difficulties , I couldn't see handing him $100 let alone $3 grand with zero leverage


the last time I dealt with him, I had him ship me a slightly used Greenhorn and when UPS delivered it, I used Paypal

But Larry not only could it cost you if you have to fight for it as Steve said but then if you do get it, it's only for the opportunity to cost you more money refurbishing it.

As old as it is and as long as sat without running, it's a money pit.

You'll just keep throwing good money at a bad machine and in the end you'll have spent so much that you could have bought a decent used one.

Now if you're a do it yourself kind of guy, then much less of a problem. You gamble and lose, you're only out parts. Most of which you can resell or reuse on another machine.

My mechanic charges me $50.00 hour and you would be eaten alive with a rat trap like that.

As hard as it is to say, I agree with walk away. It just might be the cheapest way out of this mess. :|

I got screwed when I invested 16K into a truck with a frozen mount here in Wisconsin.

I decided one day to say "fuckit" and move on. The Ford dealer was being an ass, there was loopholes...etc..

I spent another 3-4K to get something "turnkey" running. I am regretting the time I wasted pissing around with this. Since it's been going I've made back what I've lost, bought over 3K in misc crap, and making it a goal to pay off the van this year.

it won't make you feel any better... but making the thing work to make money for you is much better than dwelling over it.

Here's an update.....

The machine is at the warehouse and Jeff is working on it. It has some engine problems that he did not tell me about. There was trouble getting a replacement altanator (I was never told about that either.)

All this info came from a mutual friend of ours here on the board. Jeff did not call me and talk to me (take that for what's worth.)

I still don't think I am out of line for getting mad at no returned phone calls, no info about what is going on, and that it has been six months since he "started working on it."

I want to say thanks to all the replies here. You have given me a lot of ideas and I have to say that I am thinking of getting some other TM as I don't know how to fix them myself. If I lived up in N. CAlif then I could take it to Jeff and get it fixed and know that my money is being well spent doing that.

Also, I want to tell everyone that CMS is not connected in any way with my problems with Jeff or this TM. Greenie owns it and I am only dealing with him directly (at least trying to). Everyone at CMS has been very patient with me and understanding and they seem to have great customer service. I hope that no one thinks that they were part of my problems......they never have been.
