This little beauty isn't cheap to replace and in its installed position is susceptible to damage.
I had one go out after 2 years water damaged on my 570
I blamed my tech at the time.
Empire floor machine fixed it for $600.
Well its acted up a few months ago and Tim at Empire cleaned it up apparently there was a little coolant leak that got to the wires.
Well he moved it to the back of the frame rather easily.
Where nothing that can get it wet now, unless theres a hose burst which never happens on truckmounts.
Yet the prior damage is causing problem.
Also the harness maybe bad.
They now want $680 for the computer, no mention of harness in that price.
I found the part as low as $300 online but it takes forever to ship it here.
One place in Pennsylvania can get it here by Thursday for $477.
So I decided to try and save a little.
Not that I am opposed to helping my dealership, but after all the other headaches. I have to start making money and stop getting ripped off.
Moral of the story move your Computer on your 570 or even your new Everest because they're bound to get wet at some point and they're not well insulated from corrosion.
I always thought heat was why Jim moved his.
