I'm interviewing people to rent one of my houses today.

I'll keep those pictures etched in my mind while I decide who to risk renting to.

Hope you don't end up with one of these type tenants either , Jim

a very unpleasant task;
Meeting the sheriff's deputy to enforce a court ordered eviction notice.
It's the worst job we do, cause there's generally kids living there as they and their LOW LIFE DEAD BEAT parent(s) watch us move all their belongings to the yard.
all of us hate to do that job

yes, on that particular account anyway.
They pay time + materials

The only time they need an estimate/approval is if the job total will be over $2000.

I've not had to do that....yet.

You come to understand an entirely different part of humanity (or lack thereof) when you become a landlord.

yea I know.
I've given some thought to a new career.

but I'm not sure my car would hold up to the daily grind of delivering pizza day in and out

Thanks Coop. I am down to two pairs of sneakers. I lose a pair on every strip and wax job I do. Uncle Larry would be better off being a Wal-Mart greeter.

Man that's rough work. I don't mind cleaning up the mess, but I couldn't kick the family out.

It would bother me too much, even worse if they have kids.

Those looked like decent houses too!

get some of those up here. Mostly its a "midnight move" ( ie we've got 30 minutes to be outta here, grab whats important and lets go!) rather than an eviction.
The landlord/prop mgr usually deals with all the "stuff" before they call me in.

me too, but we're slow right now.
I'd feel too guilty about blowing a whole day chasing steelies when I could/should be schmoozing contacts and scrambling up work to keep Little Genies busy
