They go and give a really good lead. Figures.

I just have them in a really high end community so I don't see too many leads...and for the most part they are bogus...yes I know I can request a credit.

But this one may be a huge job for us. We'll see...doing it tomorrow morning.

I've had a few really good one's over the years. But it really seems to even it's self out when you cover big areas. I did just this small area because I know the houses are higher end.

We'll see.

Servicemagic now gives you leads for business. They use to only do residential. I got a nice 5 chain restaurant from them.

I especially like the ones who call us first, then we get service magic calling after with the same person who just called. Most likely they see our service magic ad, then look up our number.

in nearly 4 years with S.M., we have gotten around 3-4 paying jobs from them.

about 40 price shoppers who wet themselves when they heard my price.

about 20 bogus leads, 3 of which were never refunded us.

no commercial jobs, all resi.

I feel bad for you that use service magic

I used the service once, one guy gave me price over the phone, 2 came out and bid the job. I ended up not even doing the work. I feel like I wasted the money from those guys.

They all wanted to dump service magic but all were struggling to get work, so ended up talking to them about what we all do to get work

It doesn't make or brake me. It's just something I didn't stop doing completly. I don't base my company on it.

I know how you feel Brian. I have a love/hate relationship with Service magic. I had 21 leads for January and February and I was only able to contact 5 of the 21 leads. I didn't get any of the 5 estimates. In march I recieved 19 leads contacted 9 and booked 7. It goes in cycles. The past 3 years it has always ended up returning a 4-1 return for the year. I just don't like the fact that the leads are not qualified enough. Some people we contact say they never put in a request or were just surfing for prices. Most leads we are never able to contact. Some put in a request just wanting advice on how they can spot clean themselves and we have to end up paying the lead fee. It's very frustrating. But like you said every so often you get some big jobs come in and you are more than ahead of the game. In the end it's still worth using them.

I'm still considering it. I'm speaking with a SMagic rep now. I'm thinking if they send the call to Full Circle along with email and cell phone...I may stay with them.

I don't like the fact that it's so all over the place. I have always broke even because of how I structured my company. I still say it's good for an O/O.
If I picked more areas. I would get more leads.
If I work it out with FC then I may just include all areas.
Decisions, decisions.

At the end of the day at least it's a customer.

I don't care how big you are....1 customer is a good customer to get.

idk if you know this Brian, but it isn't all over the place in terms of location.

i narrowed "my" SM area from 30 zip codes down to about 5...all rural towns near me.

you pick where you want to work in that aspect.

90% of S.M. leads, i never drive to their place to measure and meet them. i quickly find out by questioning if they are price shoppers, and those ones i give a quote over the phone....i have them give me their best estimate of sizes over the phone. i can raise those sizes in my head as i see fit.

Yeah, I've only got 2 areas going right now. The city I live in and a really good area in the Sacramento area.
