Anyone use kaivacs or similar 'touchless' restroom cleaning systems? I'm trying to find out what people use chemical-wise. I'm going to be cleaning large restrooms/locker rooms with these. Should I be using some sort of germicide/quat or just a good all purpose cleaner since this type of system is based on the idea of blessing everything to the floor and then vacuuming to remove soil/germs?

Joe, I haven't used theor chems or equipment. But I should think that any non-corrosive cleaner that drains residue free would be good. We use an enzyme spraydown, followed by whatever is needed. Often rinse with glass cleaner since it doesn't leave spots.

I wasn't referring to their chemicals. Just chemicals in general. So you don't feel some sort of germicide is needed @Old Coastie ?

Jawhit, the multi-enzyme does the crittur-crunching. I'm not sure I can give the brand, since I'm not an advertiser.

Yes, without the enzyme a disinfectant would be needed! However, I urge you to be careful about breathing airborn chemicals. Doing what you describe, I'd suggest a full face respirator until you get to the rinse-down. Harbor Freight sells one for a song. If you smell it, you are breathing it.

All said, it is repeated, cumulative exposure you should prevent. Go knock 'em over and good luck!
