I use jon dons door guard and need a new one. I have tried movers jam guards too. Both help but does anyone have a better product or home made idea. This cold weather has me thinking there must be some better ideas out there.

It says We Care : ) not utterly useless but we (The Industry) definitely need an improvement.

Spent at least 15min jackin w a door today. Unacceptable!!

The whole thing needs to rest on the outside edge of the door.

I showed mine to a buddy who does his own webbing gear, hammocks and stuff. Not hard to sew : ) but he isn't working on any of those type projects atm.

Still its better than nothing and gives the custy some comforts.

Bane Guard is really our first choice. Have others as well.

I also saw a new style full door block being made somewhere in MN. It was on one of the Facebook carpet chat boards.

Will see if I can find it and post.

I have been thinking about giving it a try also.

Slit it at the bottom an add more. Surely you can sew 2" buddy : )

My problem too. I've got a blue one from Interlink, a few years old. I'll have to add a bunch more stuffing to it I think. Can't remember what I paid bit it was plenty for what it is. I would also switch out the included door stop with a much bigger, nicer one.

The Bane drape is excellent and heavy duty. In the really cold weather, once I have brought everything in, I drape my hooded jacket over the top corner and my fleece or sweater collar over the door handles then the Bane drape over everything. This provides extra insulation from the cold. A bucket weighted with tools and chem sprayers is pressed against he door. The bucket sits on a rolled up towel or blanket at the bottom of the door.

Chris, you can also tie a not in the bottom of the bag, the foam wont fall/slid down.

I was going to add more and sew back up too. It is looking old and want to replace it. What do you think about adding some foam shipping material?

My wife makes ours. They are a little bigger than standard Bane or other products. They have a long, rolled up stuffing that does not compact. They are ripstop nylon which helps. A giant rubber door stop is attached to a tether on the bottom which usually is enough to keep it in place but a heavy bucket can also be helpful. We use one of 2 different length elastic loops to secure over the door by the upper hinge depending on door size.

They are a pain in the butt to make and if there was a decent industry product we would surely purchase them. She probably puts 10 hours into making each one.

We don't get super cold here, so I use 2 super thick moving blankets and a door stop.

Worked pretty good at 12 degree today.

Paddlers might not be able to clean carpet very well, but they never have to fool with door drapes.

Great info, for a door stop .i have been using a Master Lock door gard.its adjustable in length and holds the door firm in the wind.esp if the customer happens to open the door wall and creates awind tunnel. I have them at home on the side entry door for security but they come in handy on the job.

Forget the door stops.
Take a 10" lightweight bungee cord, hook it to the door latch strike plate, squeeze the door against the foam door guard, pull it tight and wrap it a few times around the door knob. It won't come loose even in the wind.
