It looks like our sales manager of 6 years who left the company, is now going to work for the most unscrupulous competitor we have. Intellectual property theft? Theft of our client database? Corporate espionage? Do not disclose? We will be having some interesting conversations with our lawyer over the next week or so.

Please be advised, Sam no longer represents ServiceMonster.

Key employee retention is critical

Poaching and being poached is part of the game.

Non compete is jurisdictional , varies from state to state .. if too broadly applied an employee may never be able get another job in an industry

Not sure how Washington State is

We had something like that happen with our senior commercial salesperson. He quit and went to work for a competing company. They milked him for all his/our contacts and then fired him after about 6 months.

He knew he burned his bridges with us, so he is out of the business now. The last I heard, he was doing construction.

Oh and we just had another record year in commercial sales. The advice above about letting it go and focusing on your own house is spot on!!
