I am going to look at a large job that had plastic runners every where. The problem
is of course a sticky residue, this job is new carpet and there are 11 floors.
What would you use to remove sticky residue?

Was that the poly-tack crap? Left down more then 30 days? We use Ultra Dry from Chem Max. It's a bonnet cleaning method/system that always took care of those problems. I know HWE didn't fix it most of the time.

I'm sure there will be filtration soiling along the edges of the plastic. So you could use a neutral prespray boosted with a citrus. Scrub it in and rinse.

Warren we boosted Ultra Pac with citrus booster and used the Cimex to break it up then extracted.

Tried it without the Cimex and it was still sticky.

The Cimex is the key or similar aggitation.
