My Cleanco has a slow leak out the dump valve. Should I replace the whole brass piece? It's @ $75 from JD but I was wondering if there's another way?

Thanks!

Thanks guys. Not so much about cost but it's a big beefy brass piece that I hate to chuck out. I was hoping they were rebuildable.

Sounds like the cheaper plastic version is worth a look. Thanks!

Yes that's the guy.

Check the gate where it closes. Sometimes debris gets in the way and doesn't allow it to seal correctly. You can take a wire brush and clean it out just to be sure.

With some water in the dump tank, fire up the TM full blast...

Put your hand over the suction hose while hooked to the tank...

Keep your hand on that hose and open and close that waste tank valve a few times to see if can suck back any sand or debris stuck in waste valve gasket. That's what we do and we have gotten so lucky so many times that this was the issue.

Hope that might work

This should do the trick, right?

Erbody's in Vegas and here we are talking dump valves...

Mel and I will likely be in Vegas next year!

You shouldn't have to pay that much for it. Go to Lowe's or HD or a decent plumbing supply place and get it for less than 10 bucks.

Edit: Bob posted the same while I was typing.

Here is another example of what prices really mean.

I picked one up from Lowe's when mine started to go. It's been going on four years our so now. Probably $12

Think I paid 35.00 bucks for the valve and built the bracket myself. 2 inch Banjo valve on amazon.

Can I assume this is a brass ball valve? If so, they're pretty reliable and a $25 rebuild kit will last forever. I've taken one apart but I don't think we've ever rebuilt one.

If it's a gate valve, they have problems with grit at the bottom of the valve eating the gaskets when you close it. Flush the grit out before closing and they last a long time as well.

If you never use any solvent or anything with a solvent degreaser component, plastic should work OK, but there's a reason a manufacturer spends the money on brass.
