This is the good news my blower is very clean inside bearings are still great the exhaust for the blower is still super good inside no signs of corrosion so all in all my prochem Legend is living up to prochem standards 5200 hours plus and all I have to do is put a motor that's pretty damn good

There has got to be a deep evil long rooted rivalry between a engineer Andy mechanic I don't know if the engineer just thinks I make more money than you and I'm more qualified than you and I'm going to show you by putting this Bolt here

I mean somewhere in history may be a mechanic got an engineer's daughter pregnant or something like that because man there has to be something for this kind of evil

Is that the original engine with 5,200 hours?

So everything is put back together everything's back in my van I checked the temperature and what a huge flipping difference.

It still is a prochem legend it's not a major heat producer but there's no comparison it's going to be fun working with it on Monday

Now if I could just figure out how to upload these photos from my phone it would make life much easier it really wasn't that difficult the hardest part was the stupid blower to Muffler coupler that thick rubber hose it's very tough to get it in place but that was the hardest part

Yes it is, it is the same one that blew it's seals out and caught on fire!!!
I have a video on it. I was very very lucky.
:eekk: That is unbelievable for an air cooled engine!

Glad it all went well, next time it will be a piece of cake!

You will have to upload your pics to an outside source(like photobucket, or I think google has something) and post them from there.. If you hit "upload photo" here I always use the camera, so it will load them right away..

So this is how it went

1 removed water pump, not necessarily but needed to change oil and having it completely out of the way was better.

2 removed blower completely the reason for this is the whole HX system has to slide out through the back and the flipping bolts to the HX diverter are very hard to get to.

Unbolted the HX diverter from HX, removed the HX hose up by the unloader manifold, removed the HX hose from the back of the HX. Remove the 4 7/16 bolts from the HX feet....slide the whole unit out the back where blower would sit

The biggest problem on that coupler for me, was getting it into the perfect position to keep an air tight connection between the two. Getting it off wasn't that big of a problem.

The biggest problem for me on removing the heat exchanger was disconnecting the engine's exhaust pipe from the heat exchanger. I lost my temper and used a hacksaw on it, and just hired a welder to reconnect it. I'm sure the person who bought that tm was wondering about that weld spot if they saw it

As for the coils...I removed my coils to inspect it at 3000hrs, and they looked great. So for anyone with that amount of hours is losing heat, I suggest looking at the preheater on it first before going through the headache of what you just did.

Tom adjust your camera settings I that you aren't taking 50 mp images.

The very lowest setting is still too much for posting on the internet

Why in the heck would the Catalytic converter cost $1400 ??

Conglomerate pricing.

New models don't have the Cat or the Air pump.

I would just insulate the HX and hope for adequate heat.
