How often do you upgrade your system?
-due to necessity like crashes, or not cost effective to fix anymore?
-wanting the latest greatest?

What size monitor on your desk top?

-do you run 2 monitors?

What size screen on your lap top?

Do you use a tablet regularly?

Apple or Microsoft?

-or both?

What device do you look at MB with most often?

How many computers in your home?

Do you use your smart phone like a mini tablet?
-do you wear reading glasses or just deal with being cross eyed..?
-Iphone or Android?

I only upgrade when I can no longer tolorate the slow speed or I can't upgrade individual components like RAM etc.

My work station runs a single 22".
Staff work station runs dual, 1x 21" and 1x 19"

What size screen on your lap top?

Do you use a tablet regularly?

3 laptops. All Samsung with 15.4 screens 1 i7 and 2 i3
2 iPads one with built in verizon data. Both 32 gig and both new
3 samsung Galaxy S3 phones with 32 gig

I have been looking into what my next laptops are going to be and I'm pretty sure I'm going Apple. Especially if servicemonster supports it sooner than later.
Next phones will be Apple too as I hate the Samsung S3 over rated piece of shit.

I buy a new laptop for me every year---Usually under $500. I always have it hooked to another monitor for dual monitoring. From the price you can see my laptops are not Apples. 5 computers in the business. I have really gotten into listening to Podcasts on my Itouch.

if this thing crashes or when it does im done with the internet i think.

mostly use it for porn anyway, maybe i could find a girlfriend then. :icon_redface:

i dont do much business stuff on the computer. im old school. more dependable and less costs.

Have a one year old Dell, replaced mine after our server crashed a couple of years ago. I've been a little more proactive since and have bought 3-PC's in the last year, I need to replace 4-more that are 4-5 years old.

23 inch monitor? No just one, one of the guys that does most of the restoration billing has two. (I think mostly to flip back and forth from work and surfing the internet)

View here at work from my desk top and from my Droid at home.

6-lap tops, 1-Ipad at home.

I use my Droid like a tablet. :(

I used to be an early adopter and overclocking addict....very expensive......but I don't game anymore so now i upgrade with middle of the road components about once a year

same case for my main PC going on 5 years now. Back to one 2? inch monitor on the PCs.

2PCs, 3 cheap acer laptops, 1 HTPC, older dell that I use as a server

usually viewing MB with the main PC or HTC1x

I did have a desk top, 19" screen. Now just a 15" lap top. I upgrade about every 4yrs. Seems the OS starts to crap out around that time.Just upgraded my laptop to replace my old desktop.
Sticking with Windows, haven't made the switch to Mac, I'd be spending twice as much for the hardware plus about a $1000more to upgrade software.
Don't have a tablet and its hard to read MB on my Android phone so I check with my laptop whenever I'm near a wifi coffee shop.

Ron,

Have you considered tapatalk for the phone....

or down in the very bottom right of the site you can select the mobile style from the dropdown

or is even that hard to read?

I've switched it so the default for both modern and old mobile browsers is the mobile style.

Those that wish to see the full site can select that option..................now there is no reason for any of you to not be posting during the day :D

Fred What was your first computer you built spec CPU gpu if they made those ram? My first bought was a 486dx2 66 MHz paid $300 to turn it onto a 90mhz with a upgrade chip from intel.

More then a couple hundred to double its 16 Meg's of ram!

Damn it hurts thinking I sold a Gibson les Paul and a guild starfire with a bigsby whammy bar.
My first build from scratch was amd 150 then I built a bunch of amd 300 video card stb 24 mb card came with mec warrior built one with 2 monster cards in sky pic slot before they had ago slots. Used to speed test with quake. At lest building a mid range is easy and cheap. But upgrading graphics cards every 6 months is ridiculous.

I built many computers before but I didn't get into tweaking for performance until 2002ish? (not as old as you :)). A P4 2.4 @ 3.0 and an OCd radeon 9600. Next was a 2.8 @ 3.4 and a 9800 pro.
Tried finding old 3dmark records but I guess they aren't available anymore........

I use to buy cheap laptops, and upgrade the ram(crucial.com), and just use an external hard drive, and I had whatever I wanted. I never got into gaming, but I did build a guy a liquid clear LED lit tower once.
