We have our Level 1's firmly established.

Joe Polish/ Lisa Wagner
Howard Partridge
Chuck Violand
Bill Yeadon
Steve Toburen
Craig Jasper

Level 2's would be the published/speaker/generally respected types but not quite living off their talent yet crowd of:

Steve Marsh
Scooter Rendal
Ivan Turner
Mark Kennedy
Craig Jasper

then you have your level 3 newcomers.

Dave Yokum
George Grijalva
Dusty Roberts
John Braun
Rob Allen

Who am I missing here?

Me. Top of Level 1 please. Can't be much worse than the 3 up there. And I'll work for free.
Lets be fair, Its all common sense stuff. If you feel a need to pay someone for it, knock yourself out.

I'm not sure that you are setting up the rankings in a fair or unbiased way.

I think its only fair that you use George Grijalva's name, rather than a perjorative nickname. And I do not believe there is an "s" at the end of Dave Yokum's name, is there? "Dusty's" full name should be listed as well.

I also think Chuck Violand, Bill Yeadon, and Steve Toburen should be named individually for those who don't know them.

Finally, to be fair to the "category three" group, I'd rather see them described as newcomers, or something that doesn't infer that their level three status makes them somehow less worthy because of a lack of experience or exposure.

Lee and I are not selling marketing or management programs.

Give everyone there their due: They are sticking their necks out to make a living doing that, where what we do is simply a part of our supply business model.

No, Lee shouldn't be there. Otherwise you should include every distributor who plays "uncle" to their customers, which many less known distributors readily do. If you want to put him in a "founding father/visionary" category, that's fine. But this is a different kind of group.

Putting Joe Polish up there is an insult to any carpet cleaner.

Please remove him promptly.

Jim,
I am going to have to disagree with you. The SFS Crew is listed perfectly(before Mikey just changed) they are a team and they will let you know that there is more to SFS than the big three.

Crazy George markets himself as Crazy George I have heard him call himself that many times.
Yoakums name is still spelled wrong Iseeru

I'll concede to your closer knowledge of them Greg.

Chuck Violand does have his own management program that he offers on his own, though, to be fair.

Lee Pemberton's audio tapes were very formative for me. Very on the money.

Level One for sure, along with Bill Bane. Craig Jasper belongs there as well.

I'd agree to that one too, he's likely forgot more about the CC biz than most of the level 2er's ever knew.

I took the IICRC water damage class with Craig, and spent a lot of time interacting with him between classes. First rate, no BS. A walking telephone book of industry contacts.

Thanks,
Lee

There are so many that could be added to this list if it was just a little clearer what the criteria were. It is not a popularity contest ( I think ) but rather it's about experience and whether these folks are "gurus" full time or part timers.

I apologize if it seemed I wasn't respectful of your post Greg. I thought you had attended SFS and one of George Grijalva's program, and I honestly felt I should stand corrected based on your comments, as I have not heard any of them in person.

Classiest guy on the board Jim Pemberton.( Listening to Chavez talk about how great he is I think they are secret lovers) My posts most of the time(I was going to say half) don't deserve respect.
I did attend SFS but I saw no need for Crazy G's class though I had met him at prochem. I also took Craig Jaspers double your profits and I have to say JB you must of saw him on the up because he looked like a washed up bowler shilling from King Pin. I paid for a infomercial

Milkey put him #1 for a reason....cause he is

and what about an honorable mention for Ed York, Murray Cramer, and Lloyd Weaver.

gu?ru
??/?g??ru, g??ru/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [goor-oo, goo-roo]

–noun
1. Hinduism. a preceptor giving personal religious instruction.
2. an intellectual or spiritual guide or leader.
3. any person who counsels or advises; mentor: The elder senator was her political guru.
4. a leader in a particular field: the city's cultural gurus.

Most everyone on that list want to be a full time Guru to this industry.

Yeadon still teaches IICRC classes as does Jasper. Toburon does it just for the fun of it all, not sure about Violand.

Like em or not, HP and JP are the only real full time pros on the whole list.

I understand HP owns a cleaning biz on the side which may consume some of his free time.

Don't know if JP is back in the biz.
