Just picked up a used #3 that had been sitting for some time. Took the burner out and cleaned it out well. Put it back together and the pilot lights but the burner will not come on. Turned up the temp and still no go. Any ideas? Is the control valve bad? Maybe something is stuck inside, can I do anything to it?

could be the thermo-(whatever it's called). It is the copper thing that comes down by the pilot light, the pilot light heats it up and lets the control unit know that the pilot is lit.

Might be but in the past for me when the thermocouple is bad, the pilot won't stay lite and this one does.
