Does anyone own and use the 12" MacBook?

I love it's 2 lb weight, tiny footprint, but relatively nice 12" retina screen.

But it ain't cheap. Does anyone use one on the daily?

I'm considering one as my go to computer. Too much time spent on the iPad at night. I think I'd be more productive on a laptop.

Other then reading a book or gaming I never cared for iPads, I prefer the full utility of a MacBook, if you want to save 15% buy refurbished directly from Apple, same warranty same everything only negative its going to be offered in the refurbished section ~6 months after release, this week with Black Friday sales you should find a pretty good deals.

I connect my MacBook to a Apple 27" monitor at my desk during the day & simply unplug at night.

I had the 15 inch but here in Florida I do my work out of an office so am working from 27 inch Mac. We also run Windows on our Macs so best of both worlds.
The new MacBook is 13 inch and 3 pounds. The touch bar is a new feature that would make using it easier. Yes they cost more. Worth it to me.

You're right on Jim, about the refurbished units direct from Apple.

I've bought a couple idevices that way.

I'll keep using my iPad in the field with Service Monster. I like the portability for in the home.

But there's all kinds of stuff I neglect because I'm not on a desktop regularly, in the evenings.

The 12" MacBook is so slick. I'm trying to decide between it and the new Pro.

I'll go for the entry level Pro without touchbar or the 12" MacBook.

I'll look harder at the version with the touchbar. I think it's like $300 more for that one.

I believe it comes with a bump in specs too.

What is ideal is having one of every different sized devices........smart-phone, tablet, lappy, desktop.

Every different device has it's place.

It's nice to have as many different devices available as you can as long as they are all synced together, which is key.

What's the big deal about a touch bar?
Not really sure. Supposed to make things quicker and easier.

Time will tell if it really is a big deal.

I don't like to be the guinnea pig at $300 extra but what's $300 in the end anyway? If I'm on the thing 2 hours a day for 2 years or so, I'll definitely consider it.

I experienced the same problem.....Comes down to the ease of typing and data entry being easiest on a desktop and slow and awkward on a tablet.

Ultra/mini books or a smaller lappy are ideal if your like me who does a good amount of their work from my couch or bedroom, but ONLY if it has a back-lit keyboard.

Back-lit keyboard.

Back-lit keyboard.

Back-lit keyboard.

Why back-lit keyboards have not become standard on the majority of new laptops is beyond me.

Sooooo fooking sweet................

The MacBook is 2 pounds...2 pounds!!! (With full keyboard and backlit)

The Pro is a mere 3, like my wife's MacBook Air.

It's going to be a tough choice. I hope there's a deal to be had this time of year!

I have the 11 inch air and love it for what it is. It does everything I want it to. I can sit on the couch with Jax at night and still put together estimates or get caught up with stuff I neglected that day. Doesn't have Retna, but it's not needed in such a small size. Super easy to throw in a bag and go when I need to tho

I'd like to see a size comparison between the 11" Air and the 12" MacBook.

The ONLY things I don't LOVE about the 13" Air that Mel uses is the screen resolution and the big bezels around it. Battery life is incredible and the keyboard is great to type on.

I bought it for her probably 3 years ago and she still really likes it.
