Matched set of blower drive belts

Is it important to have a matched set (three in my case) of blower drive belts? Same date/batch of manufacture? Same brand? (I use Gates).

Parts shop sez no longer banded in matched sets.

Butler hasn't issued us matched sets in years. My guess is they are able to produce more accurate, consistent lengths so matching is unneeded.

For three Gates 3VX & 5VX belts, I would try to match the production sequence codes (last 3 numbers after size info).

The Gates 3VX & 5VX are now EPDM material.
