Mattress with a wand

I have never cleaned a mattress before but I have a cheap one in a hide a bed they want cleaned. Can I just use my two jet wand on it or do I need to use an upholstery tool?

I have done a little reading about cleaning other mattresses but this one is just a little cheap one. What would you recommend and charge?

Upholstery tool, its and easier clean but don't use your wand. The floor wand will probably over wet it and could possibly stain it.

price depends on if you're doing both sides. A hidebed mattress would be $35.00-$45.00. A real mattress we charge $75.00-$150.00 depending on the size.

Don't worry about the price....Any of us can say what we would charge but that doesn't mean you could do the same in your market. Figure out how much time you will spend with it and make your time worthwhile.

Upholstery tool works great. Make sure they leave it out for a while. I would suggest overnight.

I offer mattress cleaning and do it a bunch. I treat it with an encap boosted with peroxide. I lightly mist it and then left it set about 15 minutes. Most of the stains are gone before I start. I use an upholstery tool with very light moisture. If we do both sides which his rare now with one sided mattresses we leave it on the edge.

I hate one sided. Our last mattresss was one sided and you couldn't flip it. It cost like two sided!

I just bought an "old people" bed.... Split King with the Temperpedic adjustable base with the foot and head going up and down, with massage and a memory foam mattress... $7,800 36month zero interest... The different positions are endless with it..... Don't forget the $160 mattress protector....

I prefer the HydroKinetic upholstery tool over the Clear head SS upholstery tool... I did want to try a glided stair wand.... I believe Crazy George from NM used a stair tool for upholstery cleaning....

I hope you didn't really buy it....I have a Tempurpedic CalKing size and after about 5 years, it started to forget...Seriously, the memory foam completely became just a giant lump of foam that has no support whatsoever. Uncomfortable junk giving bad times in bed. Back when Tempurpedic was all the rage, I paid about 3000 dollars for the mattress only....I wish I didn't.

Returning a tempurpedic would be considered somewhat of a miracle.... That is all one can say about tempurpedic's customer care. And looking online for reviews: you'll find the same exact problems by the thousands.

I did too... Just the base is the Tempurpedic... The mattress is a different brand... The vibrations of the massage features puts me to sleep like a baby.....

Ended up cleaning it that day with the Sapphire. Wasnt bad. Did the couch and then the bed. Charged 40 for the mattress and around 67 for the couch.

See, that was my point about the price.

If I said I'd ask $20.00/foot for an average couch, you'd be thinking that's way too much or not enough etc...

Why couldn't one turn the pressure down to about 100 on a glided floor wand and just mist about a two foot section by holding the wand off off the surface, then jump on it with high vac to extract?

Common sense says that you will not blow water through the fabric.



Stand it up out side on the drive and Just HF it for that Matter.... < no not really lol, although someone has I am sure of : (

We clean mattresses and box springs all the time for a local restoration company, usually fire damaged pieces.

We use a stair tool, pressure down, and clean both sides and edges. $60 per and it takes very little time.
