Jim are you saying you caused that when you cleaned the tile yourself?

You do know HuckFead lurks here, right?

I’m not sure who you mean, but I am going to use it in class to show students why you shouldn’t strip tile and grout without factoring in baseboard replacement.

There isn’t a mistake you guys can make that I haven’t done first.

Do you think that you caused the swelling when you cleaned the floor?

It’s been a dozen years, so it’s hard to say. I had to get it pretty wet to strip it, so I guess I did. Three tenants have lived there since and I haven’t paid attention till this thread.

I suppose a tenant could have flooded it, but I good with me having done it, at least as a cautionary tale.

Stripping abused, overwaxed floors in a home is risky business.

Looks to me like the wall was wet at some point, isn't that rippling paint?

I will need to go back and look.

I was dealing with a loving couple gently exchanging affirmations of their mutual admiration for each’s money management skills while two squalling brats were competing for the attentions of their foul mouthed mother.

It was said with compassion and a deep level of understanding for their southern Appalachian cultural background, so that it caused me to avoid using the less kind “white trash” label.

put your reading glasses on, Skippy
that's some kind of mud spread texture

and unless that's the cheapest type pressed paper molding, I think it unlikely one sloshing clean would do that much damage to MDF
