home made baked goods are my fav.
poor Little Ole Widow Lady down the road brings me homemade pies and cookies right around Christmas every year ...Knocks on the door and there's Ms Genny-Lee with a couple pies and plate of cookies
other things over the years?
more things than i can remember...
Fishing poles and tackle
couple hundred dollars worth of Black Walnut and Cherry lumber
carpet cleaning equipment and juices
pool table (slate top, not a cheap one)
Bikes, books, candles, garlic strings, all sorts of garden veggies, beef, venison, pork, fish and fowl , appliances, cabinets , et al
The largest monetary value gift was all the copper pipe out of some buildings we boarded up that were slated for demo.
At that time copper was at $3 pound ....had the guys go in with sawsalls and hammers to a dozen or more of the buildings in the pic (6 apts pr building)
Took two men, two days to cut all the copper out...that I hauled to the scrap yard 5 miles away .
can't recall exactly what i made, $2500 or better
net
latest non money tip/gift was this Christmas
Bran'spankin new Stihl chainsaw bought just for me
the few that mean the most to me??
Ms Genny-Lee bringing the bake goods over every Christmas
and a new pistol an elderly couple and long time custy gave me before they moved from their home into an assisted living community.
he bought the pistol new many years ago for home defense, shot it once and put it in the dresser drawer where it stayed for 30+ years .
"here Larry, I want you to have this, I know you'll take care of it"
I never shoot it, but I'll never sell it either
