You asked me a question and now the thread is gone. The bypass takes all the water back to the water box and the it just does a loop. You would trigger the wand and have no water. If the waterbox got to hot it has a thermal valve to waste tank which also opens when you turn the thermostat down. Are you talking about those goofy exhaust diverted. I don't have those
