I cannot imagine being in Tony's place right now. No one person could create these issues, and no one person can solve them.

Being the chairman sometimes puts you into a no win position:

You are perceived as the leader, but in many ways you can only guide the agenda of a meeting and the "inmates often run the asylum"

I have no communication with Tony any longer, but I'd remind everyone of this:

Tony did a great deal to help people here on MB, and throughout the industry. Whether it was his work with "dye sticks", or some tips on upholstery cleaning and especially leather care, he was surely one of the "best and brightest" here.

The pressure and stress from these unanticipated issues with the management company likely are making his life very difficult right now.

None of this is meant to excuse the horrible state of affairs that exist in the IICRC today.

Its just that I choose to remember the good he did, and that he is still the bright and insightful person he always was.

I wish him the best as he works through this nearly impossible situation.

Friendships should transcend circumstances. In my heart and mind, my friendship with him remains.

Ultimately I don't give a toot about the IICRC either. The mismanagement of money and wasting of people's time is what erks me. I really wish Tony the best but until he explains himself and his involvment with all of this....

Where I see a problem with sabotaging the current organization is that many many years of efforts (pathetic as it is) have been spent marketing the name and the standards.

Now you're going to tell all these entities that oops don't call them, call us. ?

What value is there being certified by one organization, when you're working to the standard of the other?
