mold in carpet

A friend wqshed an area carpet with a garden hose the other day out in his driveway. left it to dry for three days,rolled it up and left it out for two more days then call me after his wife raised holy hell. mold has set in the backing and it smells. I cleaned it and it came out really good but still has a little smell What would you do if you were me . He is a good guy but his wife can be the wife from hell at times. I would like to make it right for him. THANKS

Try setting it out in the sun with the backing facing up. It might be just the cure for the smell and the mold. I would also use the mildecide but try the sunshine first.

I would give it a light cleaning and hit it with some microban
