Here's the situation: Customer has two female dogs that lay on her couch. The couch has down filled linen cushions, with separate, washable covers.
The two dogs apparently leave wet spots. Vaginal or urine, she doesn't know. She washes the covers. The cushions have turned brownish (from the down?).

When she washes the covers, they just don't smell fresh. I suggested she put disposable pads between the cushoins and the covers and I can offer her some Saiger's Cide, but beyond that, what suggestions would you make?

Ma'am dogs belong outside and you suck as a woman who can't keep her house clean.... Filthy Broad!!!!

Tell her wash it with vinegar first, then re-wash it normally... Obviously it's not worth my time if she washes it herself... And if it's Down filled, it's most likely the humidity spots as we call it... I believe @Jim Pemberton says it's from the fire retardant sprayed onto the cushion lining.. Put the cushions back on wet or risk it shrinking off the cushion...

Do you have any pictures?

You need to be careful here, but if she is going to leave animals stay in contact with her furniture, she needs water proof covers that she can wash frequently.

And somewhere else to sit......

No pics, Jim. She isn't asking me to clean it. This is a $3000/year customer who as she was writing me a juicy check, was asking for advice. I think if she continues to launder the covers and begins to put a pad inside them to shield the cushions, she should be fine. The dogs aren't going anywhere...

I will take her some Saiger'sCide to spritz and make the cushions smell like margaritas. I hope the green color doesn't stain the fabric. If it does, I'll switch her to Hydrocide.

I'll tell you this, the jugs are way too small and they don't stay full very long.
I had every nurse's aid in that facility asking for some. They must've mistook me for Santa Claus.

I am thoroughly disgusted by this. Why do you animal lovers accept this...I'll never understand.
Dogs, cats all over your upholstery AND your bed where you sleep -likely- barely clothed.

I don't even like it when friends come over and I see cat hair, dog hair on their clothes and they sit on my furniture.

We know that isn't an issue because you would have to have a friend first....

That thinking will lead you down a long dark road...

Licking.......they're probably licking their "stooshes", or paws, or whatever they can lick and leaving a saliva filled wet spot. Mine will start to lick when on the end of the bed and I kick her off when she starts. Can leave a huge wet spot.....huge I say. I actually give mine 2 benadryl capsules every night to help ease the seasonal allergies.

Thank you pet lovers they keep us busy. I always thank the dogs & cats after each job and say see you soon. jz

You got this wrong...

First, I wasn't complaining about all the work we gain from people keeping their beasts in their houses. I was simply saying that it's disgusting that so many people live with all sorts of animal crap.

Second, you're slipping: you failed to include in your post that you're 81 years old and that you've been at this longer than the age of a Sumerian tablet.

That's the problem, these dogs are barely clothed. Come on people, what are you thinking? Get some jammies on the dogs before they go to bed.

Yeah disgusting in that people allow their pets to piss all over their house, sleep with them and even allow them to lick inside of their mouth! WHATS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?

THESE AREN'T HUMANS! THEIR FREAKING ANIMALS!
DIRTY ASSED ANIMALS! OUR WHOLE SOCIETY IS SICK!

AND I BLAME IT ON THE FAKE NEWS AND DEMOCRATS!

So they will put towels down and cover with a single-size fitted sheet. I gave 'em a spray bottle with Saiger's Cide to use on odor if they need it.
Turns out that one old dog is having kidney failure and incontinence. Seems like a good way to deal with the issues they are having.

While we're at it, how often do you guys hand over a bit of spotter, or deodorizer, just for good will?
