My first barn doors

I think all my other cargo vans had a slider.

The Transit's rear doors have magnets to hold them open.

These barns could sure use a mechanism to hold them open on sloped drive ways and windy days..

Any ideas?

maybe a bungee cord or the same latch that is on your vortex?-- hard to tell without a picture of the doors. I use spring clamps to keep my sliding doors secure when on hills.

Grab some stretchy rope and tie some hooks on each end. Then hook the door and other end hook to wheel.
Bungee's are the easiest for me. Tried the broom handle prop and tension rod.
Bungee's store easy and have them hanging on my towel rack on back door for easy access.

It is getting hard to find sliding doors.

I definitely prefer the sliders for when you pull in a driveway next to another vehicle, because you can't swing a barn door out if there isn't enough room on the side.

what I hate about my sliding doors is that crap get lodge in bottom rail and some times the door gets stuck... less working parts with Barn doors.

Though I remember the 1st time I forgot to latch the barn doors on my vortex while driving...
I came around a corner and the door swung open nearly wiping out 3 soccer moms and their Strollers standing at the corner :eekk:

A grout brush works for me on the side door.. As for the back door, just don't park to close to a Mercedes on a windy day.

Some people complain about the simplest of things.

You can take the guy out of California, but you can't take the California out of the guy.

Isn't that the norm in Texas regarding barn doors?
