I've been in this work for a long time, I do a lot of it by myself because I can.
In todays job market and the bullshit Biden talked about his job creation is a freaking joke. I'm in northwest PA any where you go practically a help wanted sign everywhere.
My brother owns a few McD's in Ohio and he has to work the grill or counter from time to time.

I don't advertise much because I don't need to, a web site is all I need, word of mouth is best. We have competition here and a few advertise 2 rooms for $69.00
I see some around here and where your at that won't leave the drive way if it is not over the minimum of $140.00 for 600 sq ft.

That is not why I'm writing this.
If I have to answer another call from, Angi or House Call, Home Advisor, etc.
I might just loss it, when I say NO and get a follow up email is the worst.

Soon I might just start advertising cleaning up for carpets with nuclear fallout.

Have a pleasant day.

It's best to tell Yelps and Angie and all the rest that you just cant handle any more work.

They tend to leave you (me) alone after that.

If you humor them for even a second and listen to the pitch, they keep trying.

Here in the Vancouver area, 600 sqft would be $210. Minimum charge is $150, no matter how small and I am cheap compared to some.

Just out of curiosity......how much does working the counter at McD's pay?

I tried the Angie's list/Home advisor. What a mess that was. The leads were horrible and the not my type of customers. My minimum is $200. The callers were not the $200 types.

I would raise my minimum but I get lots of one room jobs that take 1/2 hour.
I've tried that theory. It's a personal thing. The people that demand the most want to pay the least. It's easier for my tolerance level to just cut them out.

I have lots of condo's here that only have carpets in the bedrooms. My little astrovan fits in their underground parking. Easy/peasy stuff. Not usually heavily soiled. Prespray and flush only. Extra charges for extra work. Case in point, I did a job yesterday. Water damaged Berber polypropylene. Treated with browning treatment, scrubbed with CRB and flushed with portable. Time on job, 45 minutes. $200. Stains wicked up a little. Went back today with an Oreck orbiter and Saiger's code Red encap. Came out perfect for another $150. About 20 minutes.
