Got to re-seal a few leaking fittings on the Thermalwave. After sitting for 4 years, a few of the fittings are leaking. So....if I'm going to pull down the "Y" strainer, I might as well just replace the brass fittings all at once. These are HD from the Parker Store. Home Depot fittings are too whimpy. The valves are to isolate the solution lines while idling down the Thermalwave since they want you to keep Cat pump on at all times.

$90 for quality.

Any suggestions on sealing? Would you use teflon and how many wraps? Or would you use pipe dope/liquid sealer?

I would use Teflon tape, although My Union Pipefitter friend uses both - Tef followed by a smear of dope.

3 to 5 wraps, depending on whether you bought thin cheapie tape or good quality.

Cut the tape with scissors, don't tear it, and don't let the tape overlap the edge of the fitting - less likely to get scraps of tape gumming up the works....
