Steps to clean some poly blend boat upholstery that was heavily soiled with tobacco and cooking grease

1 Vac
2 Swear as I presprayed
3 Scrub
4 Swear some more
5 Scrub like hell again - with a little "Oh My!" surprise you really didn't do that did you? - Yes I did and who the hell says I can't?!
6 Smile and chuckle and think those guys are going to call me a hack for this.... ah fook them, it worked like a hot damn.
7 Spot
8 Suck
9 Climb a step ladder about 20 times

1 oz to a gallon of S&G with some JJ used as a spotter (worked like a charm)

As Ron Lippold says, WOW!

Notice on one of the pictures I have the Sebo upside down and I was running the edge of the upholstery cushion over the brushes.

Sure wouldn't do this on some stuff but it got me thinking if there as a small counter rotating hand tool it would be a real cool tool to use on the right fabrics.

Olefin: known by many people by the trade name, Herculon. Strong, with natural stain resistant properties, olefin is a bulky fiber. with a coarse "hand" that does not hold up well to direct sunlight. Often it is used to create heavy textured causal fabrics. These fabrics when loosely woven require a latex backing for added strength.

That's the problem. It looks great when you are finished. Go back after a few days or weeks of foot traffic. I guarantee it will not look the same.

Scrub makes all the difference.

Bobbie, Not to rain on your parade, But Bet I could do as good with just my Judson O2 and rinse Yes I would add some Hot sauce.

Thet ther Filter Queen looks identicle to the ones my Step dad sold in 58, 59 and 60, My brother broke my moms heart when he tossed hers last year instead of putting a new cord on it. They used to have a device that you put inthe end of the hose that would turn the whole hose into a vibrator which you could wrap around "All Over your Body"

PS I aint got to play with no slop and gobble yet..

I disagree that you could have done just as good a job without agitation.

It definitely would be possible to do the job without the agitation, but to not agitate these fibers with the obviously extreme amount of soiling on them would be poor workmanship. The job could also have been done with JJ O2.

Also it might not have occurred to some people that when using high heat and continuous flow tools on olefin upholstery you can't crank the heat to make up for agitation because if you did it would melt that olefin in a flash.

I did exactly the right things I should have. The job came out excellent and the customer's expectations were exceeded.

Bob,

Why do you continue to think you did something exceptional.

When you clean some of the easiest fabrics a cleaner can run into.(That blue fabrics is exceptionally easy to clean)

Any chimp with a few days of training could of had excellent results also.

No big whoop.

We all do the same stuff here on a daily basis.

Who are you trying to impress or are you just shilling for Les.

So what, you cleaned a few plastic cushions.

Clean something that is a real challenge for us in the field and then get your brag on.

How about white cotton with water stains, urine, ink, vomit........

Something worth bragging about and others could really something from.

BTW:That thrift store vac from the 60s must really impress clients.

Bob, What's your next photo expose of something else we do everyday?

How about how you put gas in your truck?

How to insert the credit card properly.

How you put on your "Special" gloves

Remember- Right tighty lefty loosy on the gas cap.

Tips on how to stop on an even number.

How to convert liters into gallons.

O' I forgot.

You can't do a photo expose of how you fill up on gas because....

THAT WOULD LEAVE NOTHING TO SHILL!!!

Your motives for this post is extremely transparent.

Can't wait for your next shill post.

My thoughts exactly!! Take a completely trashed rental or a greasy a** Chinese restaurant and have two wands going. Both using same heat, same psi, same prespray. Both let the prespray dwell for let's say 10 minutes, one guy prescrubs and the other doesn't. The one who DOES prescrub will have cleaner carpet than the other.... THE END!

Ya dumb shit, I don't make anything off of Les. You on the other hand have your marketing crap linked in your post signature.

And you are critiizing my equipment....More irony from Yankcum. You drive around in a molestermobile that would be stopped every 10 blocks in the hoods I roll in. Nothing wrong with the vacuum and my customer know they are a good brand. But then again, you don't have the dedication or appreciation as to why to buy a vacuum and use it exclusively for vacuuming upholstery. You probably don't even have a vacuum on your piece of crap rig.

And I wasn't bragging about my work, in fact the opposite is true. You on the other hand probably don't even have a camera and would be too ashamed to show your work if you did.

That is a Stanley WorkMate that you can get at Lowes or Home Depot. A must have for those loose back sectionals.

Dave Bob's post serve as good educational value to cleaners or lurkers who have no clue what they are doing.

At least he is showing the right way to do things.

I bet more than a few people learned something.

It was not the most challenging job but still good value for people wanting to learn.
