Had an iphone for 2 years...contract finished up the day before the droid came out....got the droid day one. The iphone is better for music, video, games and ease of use. The droid is for those of us who hate nazi apple. It is nice to have a hard keyboard and to be able to change wallpaper if I want. Oh yeah the camera has a flash and the screen is really pretty and I like google (youtube, picasa, gmail 4 accounts, maps....blah blah) alot.
P.S. If you haven't tried google voice, it is great for business. They give you a local number for free which you can forward to multiple phones. voicemails are turned into text which is nice for noisey environments like CCing. check it out.
