I have been cleaning carpets and upholstery on and off since the mid 70's, but to this time I have avoided mattresses. For some reason I have been getting quite a few inquires of late and have lost some jobs for other work that I would have gotten if I did mattresses. So I am ready to take the plunge and want to know how mattresses differ from regular upholstery cleaning and special problems I might encounter or be able to avoid. What is the average dry time? Any help would be welcome.

Clean it like upholstery.
I used 40 vol. on urine and blood stain.
I spray light with uph. Pre spray from cobbs add a dash of brightner and usually rinse with last step. A little degreaser for tougher spots rinsed with last step.
If a kid pissed the bed or a pet, saturate with urine treatment rinse with last step put dry pod to dry.

Never spot clean you'll leave a water ring.

A small Waterclaw is helpful on the peepee spots

Shoot first.... Actually they cuff, stuff and flip out over it.
Samiam has it down, but yes use a waterclaw because it will soak all the way through. Charge a fair price for a LOT of work, at least what you charge for a large sofa.
No guarantees on stains, although odors are controllable.
