Not likely unless they were part of the field testers that did beta testing for the units.

Here is my offer on retro-fitting. You send us the original E-TES plus the cost of a new E-TES SD unit and we will retrofit the original unit. We will send you one that you could not tell from a brand new model. 
Actually, the circuitry and internal wiring is so different that retro-fitting is not a cost effective option. Just buy the new unit and then you will have two.
