cleaned a two year old Macy's (the store not the chimp) sectional today, the lady has bought fabric protection warranties twice before and each time was given the runaround, put on perpetual phone hold and eventually serviced by incompetent rookie upholstery cleaners sent out by the warranty co.
I listened, told my stories from my side of the table and made no pitch at all.
20 minutes later when we got to talking about the price I ended with " and if you'd like, with no warranty whatsoever I can spray some teflon on the seating areas and arms to help with your three dogs for $uch and $uch..
"oh really? awesome, please do that."
People are so burned out on toaster and pencil sharpener warranty bullshit to the point that they now associate the word with a SCAM
