I painted my van. There were a few small dents I didn't fix but overall it looks and feels like a new van. Makes me happy. Hopefully the paint sticks!

You must be quite young. If it were possible to buy a bottle of youthful energy and ambition id spend every last dime i had to buy a some and slather that s*** all over my aching body. I hurt from just reading of all you have accomplished in a relatively short period of time! 🥺 i think I'm gunna have to take a nap

I'm 39. I feel like a bum. I F'd off the last 20 years, although my few friends would say otherwise. But I don't even own a home, and I'm 1 year and some change into establishing my 1st real business. My last 3 businesses were laughable, they barely made enough money to get by each month, and were all passion with no mind or pragmatism.

I know that I'll be 60 years old in no time, and I want to own a home and have money saved when I get there, God willing. I feel like if I can add 1 van and work crew to my operation every 5th year of being a carpet cleaner then by the time I am 60 my business will be a perpetuating retirement plan. And I can be the old man giving pep talks to the crew in the morning and lingering around the office throughout the day.

Maybe if I had better mentors when I was younger and didn't wander in darkness I would have gotten into the trades way earlier and lived a simpler life. But here I am. Making the most of the time I have, at least most days.

Hey Dwain thanks for the tip about spraying the top 1st. You were right there was no way I wouldn't be leaning against fresh paint and dragging my air line across fresh paint if I did otherwise. I made this really sketchy staging from milk crates and 2x4s 😄

I began washing and taping it at 8am and finished spraying by 8pm yesterday. That was a race. I had removed the decals and adhesives and scuff sanded the whole thing to 400 grit a previous day... 1 coat of sealer and 3 coats of single stage paint.

It was 77 degrees here and I parked it by the forest line behind my house so when the sun went over the trees enough by 3:30pm I began spraying. My wife had tweezers and was staying ahead of me plucking bugs and other junk off the fresh paint. She's a gem. I'm so blessed ❤️🙏
