But it would only be needed for stairs. Why not just use 2 inch (like a grown man) and be done with it? Save the 1.5 for those porty posers. :winky:
It's also needed for upholstery and for using a 1.5 inch in tight quarters. I have both a 15 foot whip of 2 inch soft hose and 15 foot whip of 1.5 in the truck. I use the 2 inch for the zipper/360/2 inch wand and 1.5 for mach 12/stair/upholstery tool. Both have identical flash cuff attachments. Just makes life easier in my opinion.

No worries...I never listen to your opinion. :winky:

A whip is not really needed for upholstery, as most upholstery tools have a whip that is more than enough to reach around the sofa, though it may be slightly more convenient.

Richard just wants everybody riled up.
Fred gave him the impression that he'll be paid by the rile.

I use the inch and a half whip for stairs and upholstery. I think of stairs and upholstery as precision work...compared to carpet and tile cleaning. The smaller hose works better for that kind of work. The Flash Cuffs make it easy to pop it on and off. Plus I'm not Mighty like Chavez.

Good grief guys....I’m I the only one using that same swivel stair tools but with a closed spray to retain the heat plus no over spray. Parked it’s sister nonswivel, open spray stair tool years ago and never picked it back up. It’s sits as a stand by.

Been using it for years this way.

2” would be clunky to use.

How much heat is it going to loose being half an inch from the yarn?
GFG (good .... grief).

Hey, I bet some do 4 to the door not to loose suction with a 6"-8" wide tool. And we're talking fully erected. Viagra style. :winky:
Not that I know, (Richad told me) or that there's anything wrong with it

Supposed to but I'm in SF.
Going back Saturday morning. Got snow chains. Next week so far looks pretty light, so maybe I'll be able to stay longer.
At this stage, always looking forward to some break in the schedule (but not too crazy).

Got tons of cut wood for the fireplace and a nice supply of beer etc. Unfortunately we already watched all the Bosch series, so we'll have to find something new, or read. I love doing nothing.

Most risers do not need the full steam extravaganza, as dust & sand do not migrate upwards. Some get front of the shoes marks and rarely some dirt (and then they need it.) Otherwise, just misting and good vacuuming is all that's needed.

However, from these videos it seems like the part that needs most attention (the stairs' nose) does not get as much attention. In my experience, being able to continue the wet cleaning motion down, following the nose curve (which physically is not possible with these long tools,) is what makes the best visible improvement.

Where I am, there's lots of curvy, tight and narrow stairs. I'd love to see the circus performance on these.

To each his own.

I totally agree that from recovery standpoint, there's no need for 2", plenty of suck with these stairs tool. Unless you really do not want to deal with a whip and are willing to deal with a much less flexible and more cumbersome hose that eventually, sooner or later I guarantee, will cause some damage. Unless, of course, you're a faux macho like Desky- the no Fels hack.

Thank you! I use a pmf 40 inch half wand and a 6 inch hand stair tool , depending on the circumstances. If it gets real picky, I use a detail tool. Soaking and open vac on the stairs is a must. As far as farting around with the risers- Why? I soak a bit with my tool and open vac the little bit of dust.
