Are you the vast majority type of cleaner who uses a 12pH+ prespray on every job.... or do you use a 7, a 9 and keep the 12+ for just your shitpits?

Carpet and tile is Blue or Red depending on how bad it is.
Rugs and Wool would be a low ph upholstery pre-spray...generally...
Gone through 2 cases of Saiger Sealer and ordered another one yesterday...should have ordered 2. Marks new slightly acid rinse is doing what it's suppose to do.
Seems like it's all working to me...but I'm no Scientist.

I use procyon on all of my residential. Rather than "nuking something" I prefer to use some form of agitation, like making Marty watch reruns of Saiger videos. The odd time I add boosters or oxidizers where necessary.

Neutral for natural fibers, mostly rugs and upholstery. Under 10 ph for the majority, 12 for the shitz.

How do you know it’s doing what it’s supposed to?
Quick answer - Nothing is turning brown or bleeding. You don't have to read further.
Upholstery and rugs that would react badly to alkaline rinse are not giving me any bad reactions since Mark's Blue Rinse is slightly acid. I use to switch the rinses back and forth...when I remembered or wasn't too lazy... with the acid rinse and the alkaline rinse and Mr Pemberton didn't think that was a good idea. So Mark's new rinse made the switching unnecessary and it works very well at nearly neutral...slightly acid rinse.

ok
Just so you’re not telling me it rinses better
Safer. Cleans just as well. Would think I am leaving the carpet closer to neutral. I was using the Butler Alkaline rinse. But what do I know... just a Carpet Cleaner.

I hope everyone understands that the bulk of the soil load in carpet is acidic. Prespray with a 10 ph product and as soon as it emulsifies the soil, the pH will drop. Rinsing with an acid rinse may further drop the pH, leaving the carpet on the acid side rather than neutral.

8ph most the time, 10ph or 2ph when needed.

Some cleaners brag about using the most powerful chems, which generally means higher Ph to them.
I prefer to use the Correct ph for the item being cleaned.

So Ron if we use a acid rinse and it leaves the carpet in an acid state does it attract more soil? And I know that some acid rinse products do leave a residue. And should we be concerned when all carpet is nothing more than a 1/2 inch of plastic?

I use Ultapac most of the time. Usually rinse with about a pH 9 powder.
I have others traffic lane cleaners, boosters, milder stuff. Sometimes I will even use an acid rinse if the rare situation calls for it.
